5V News

It was great to see so many of you last night at our Curriculum Night.  I hope you have a better idea of how things work in 5V and I will keep you updated on a parent technology night soon!

Some activities we did this week:

• Classified prime and composite numbers
• Created factor trees to find the prime factorization of numbers
• Took our first math test
• Celebrated Dot Day as a whole school
• Learned about the power of "I" in poetry
• Experimented with different line breaks in our poems
• Met with our reading partners to retell our books
• Practiced summarizing and choosing the most important parts of a story 
• Wrote our first blog posts on our hopes and dreams
