Some activities we did this week:
- Practiced long division
- Interpreted remainders in division problems
- Brainstormed issues at the school, community and world level for our persuasive writing
- Chose three topics for our persuasive writing and brainstormed arguments for and against
- Created an outline of our persuasive essays
- Continued researching our European explorer
- Began creating an explorer information sheet on Google Docs
- Explored Google Templates
- Studied the objects that the characters in our books hold close to them
- Had some great class discussions after reading Wonder for our read aloud book
- Learned about topics of our choice during Genius Hour
Notes and reminders:
- Our holiday celebration is Thursday, December 19th. Students should bring in a new, or nearly new, wrapped book for our book swap. Students are welcome to bring them in anytime before that.
